METHOD / DISCOVERY → OWNERSHIP → IMPROVEMENT

Build for the work
that actually happens.

I don't begin by assuming a new app, an automation or AI is the answer. I begin by understanding what people are trying to accomplish & why the current way gets in their way.

01—06 / HOW I WORK

The operating method

A flexible way of thinking, not a claim that every project follows an identical ceremonial process.

  1. 01

    Understand the real work.

Talk to the people doing it. Learn the dependencies, decisions, unofficial workarounds, exceptions & information they need to act.

  2. 02

    Define what success means.

Make the requirements, owners, constraints, failure paths & expected outcomes explicit before building around an assumption.

  3. 03

    Choose the simplest useful answer.

A clearer process? A configuration? Integration? Automation? AI? A new product? Decide based on fit, cost, risk & future administration.

  4. 04

    Build & verify the outcome.

Define the logic, implement the workflow & test whether the user can complete the task, including the cases where something fails or stalls.

  5. 05

    Make the handoff real.

Train users, document the rules, clarify what remains human-controlled & establish a way for the system to keep working without me.

  6. 06

    Watch, learn & improve.

Use search behavior, support patterns, exceptions, operating data & feedback to adjust what no longer fits.

THE DECISION ISN'T ALWAYS TO BUILD

The right answer is the one that works.

Sometimes the business already owns the right tool. Sometimes the workflow needs to change. Sometimes building a new system is justified. I weigh usability, risk, integration, adoption, costs & the people who will maintain it.

How I test the result ↗

BEYOND THE LAUNCH

A system doesn't become useful just because it goes live.

The owner guides, operating blueprints, training & documented limitations I create are part of the product. A handoff is only useful if the next person understands what the system does, what it doesn't & what they still need to decide.
